Locating A 'Missing' Windows Taskbar

You came early to work to finish a very important project which you have started doing the week before. You opened up all programs, files, and applications you have previously started on as well as the things you'll be needing for the day. As you typed away in a hurried pace, you suddenly had the need to use the other programs you have left open., but to your horror, the Taskbar wasn't there! Suddenly, you wanted to curse everyone you can lay your eyes on, thinking who ever used your computer while your were gone and somehow tweaked it to your utter disbelief. In frustration, you clicked and clicked at the lower part of your screen as the Taskbar played hide-and-seek with you. This wasn't the first time, and for some reason, this will not be the last.
Why does the Windows Taskbar disappear sometimes?
The situation mentioned is not at all a rare occurrence. As with computers with multiple users, it usually happens without the knowledge of the other. So why does this happen?

Sometimes, your computer's resolution (in pixels) is just too low or just too high for the monitor to display the Taskbar on your screen. On the other hand, for some personal preference, some people want their Taskbar hidden while they work on something. They can just click it anyway later on if ever they'll be needing it. These people who prefer it hidden while they work change the Taskbar properties, thus the hide-and-seek Taskbar. However, not all want their Taskbars popping up every time they roll over their mouse at the bottom of the screen. Some would want their Taskbar right where it is, ready for clicking in case they need to view another application.

This is no problem, however, as it is very easy to restore the Taskbar to its default setting.
How do I restore it?
To restore your Taskbar, click the Start menu on your desktop. Then, point your mouse to Settings in which a sub-menu will appear. Click the Taskbar and and Start menu in which you will see all tabs under it. Click the Taskbar tab. All Taskbar options and properties will be there. Click the box that says "Keep On Top". Click Apply and then Ok.

If it still doesn't work because you either have too high or too low resolution, right-click on any part of your desktop, provided it's empty. Choose the Properties menu and click the Settings tab. You will see a slider under the "Screen Area". Adjust it to higher and lower, whichever your computer has problems on, then click Ok.

You can also resize your Taskbar, so it would look bigger. Point your mouse on the Taskbar's top edge. Wait for the mouse to turn into a double-headed arrow. Then click your mouse without letting it go and then drag it upwards until you reach the desired height for your Taskbar.
How can I avoid this problem in the future?
To avoid this simple problem, if you are using a multi-user computer, make sure that there are separate accounts for all users and guests. This way, they can keep their preferred settings and you can keep yours. Also, make sure that under the Taskbar options and properties, "Auto-hide" box has no check in it while "Show Quick Launch" is always enabled.
