MS Office Error
Microsoft Office is a robust collection of Microsoft programs related to writing and business. Included in Office are the Spreadsheet and Word, among several other programs. Like virtually every other program on Windows, people using Office occasionally encounter errors. These usually occur when they are trying to open a document or even open Office.
What Causes MS Office Errors?
The most common causes of MS Office errors are bugs, viruses and updates/incorrect shortcuts. Other causes of the errors include hardware issues. We'll go over each and how they can be fixed.
Bugs
When Microsoft releases a program or operating system, they tend to rush it. As a result, the first version of the program is plagued by problems known as bugs. These bugs cause errors to appear and will not allow the program to run correctly. MS office errors are very often caused by bugs.
The only way to fix a bug is to download a solution to the problem known as a patch. Check Microsoft's web site for any possible patches for MS office.
Viruses
Viruses can harm any aspect of Windows, including Office. For any errors caused by viruses, the way to fix the problem is to get rid of the virus by using a good anti-virus program.
Updates
If you've recently updated Office, you may find that your shortcuts to Office no longer work. That's because the location of the Office files may have changed. Go to C:\Program Files\ and then to the Office folder. Find each .exe for each program within Office and right click “create short-cut”. Replace your shortcuts with the new shortcuts. This should fix it.
Hardware
Office requires a certain amount of memory and space. If your PC lacks the appropriate amount of memory (generally over 256MB), you'll get an error message when you run Office. To fix this problem, you must increase the amount of memory or space you have.
