System32 Error

System32, as you probably are well aware, is an integral part of the PC. In this folder, many critical aspects of the operating system are contained. Things like system settings, files etc. are all in System32.

You can probably imagine how things get when files—or even just one file—are corrupted. In short, havoc ensues. That's because Windows cannot proceed with certain operations if an important file is missing. If you've received the System32 error, there's a good chance you're missing an important system file or it is possibly corrupted.

What the System32 Error Means

When you get a System32 error, it means one of three things: it is a temporary problem (i.e. a reboot will fix it), it is due to a corrupt file(s), or it is due to a missing file. If any file in System32 is corrupt in anyway, or is missing, a System32 error will result when any program that is dependent on said file is run.

Why Does the System32 Error Occur?

The System32 error ultimately occurs because a file has been corrupted or is missing. The reasons vary for why this happens. Viruses and spyware are commonly blamed for messing around with important system files, such as those found in System32. Users occasionally knowingly or unknowingly damage or delete crucial System32 files. Finally, certain programs may mess with the configuration of any of the System32 files. The files most commonly damaged or deleted are Config.nt andAutoexec.nt.

How Can I Fix the Problem?

To fix the problem, you'll have to first determine the cause. If it's due to spyware/viruses, download a good anti-virus or spyware program to first eliminate the spyware/virus. Then, check to see what files are missing/corrupted. Once you determine what files need to be replaced, you can replace them by either inserting your Windows OS disc or by searching on Google for a replacement file. (note: please make sure that any site which you download important system files from is legitimate—do your research!)
