Windows Update Error
Microsoft designed Windows Update to be a very automatic, but essential part of the XP operating system. Unfortunately, windows update isn't always so automatic. In fact, some users may experience a problem with updating all together. Calling Microsoft obviously does no good, so what can you do about the dreaded windows update error? You can try our fixes which, in 90+% of the cases, will solve the problem.
How Do I Fix It?
When there is a problem with the update, Windows gives you an error code telling you just what the deal is. Based on this information, you can find the best fix. Pay close attention to this code so that you know what fix to use on your PC.
0x800a0007 Windows Update Error 1
What It Means: It means that your PC is off by a significant amount of time. Thus, Windows cannot update your computer.
How To Fix It: Simply correct your PC's time by double clicking on the time in the bottom right corner. Make sure your time and date is as accurate as possible.
0x800a0007 Windows Update Error 2
What It Means: SSL connection isn't enabled or you are using a proxy server without HTTP 1.1 enabled.
How To Fix It: Go to Internet Explorer>Tools>Options. Enable SSL and click OK. Restart Explorer and attempt the download again.

What It Means: Something is blocking Internet Explorer from accessing the Windows Update site or vice versa.
How To Fix It: If you have a firewall running, simply grant permission to Windows when prompted. Or temporarily disable the firewall installing the updates.

What It Means: Windows doesn't have English as the preferred language for the update.
How To Fix It: Microsoft has fixed it for the most part.
